Although I'm not curious to know who wrote to you about the alternatives that the Russians had to the SMO - but I'd really like to have known what alternatives Russia had, in his opinion. It seems to me that Russia and Donbas had absolutely no choice, as Donbas was about to be overrun by an invasion of Kiev forces.
