  2. Becoming authoritarian to maintain control of a libertarian party is essentially the same as becoming a Thatcherite to get elected as a socialist. In each case, it means creating the opposite of what you want to get what you want - much like libertarian socialists have for decades found themselves foolishly voting for authoritarian neoliberals to "stop the Tories"🤪
