  2. Your desire to read books parallels my recent desire to consume podcasts from various sources which I have effectively exhausted. Hard bound texts often have only a forest of words to consume. Videos mix verbal/textual content with images and physical gestures of individuals tying elements of the video together. In my student days, there was text, unimaginative sketches and instructors almost devoid of personality. Never impressed by comics so science fiction was my refuge. Books, at that time, were almost completely text; an aspect of books I greatly disliked because I lacked the life experience to imagine what the book described.

  3. Orwell was wrong because, although a human being can be broken temporarily, spirit can not be broken. The source of spirit is before birth and continues beyond death and creates all that is admired in human beings. Even atheists know that.

  4. Don't deny yourself the times of sharing: just find ways to thicken your skin. Sharing is part of self development that I think works for you: it's a version of joy that you often call love. Just remember you matter especially to those you have yet to meet.

  6. This is take it on the chin advice but also a way to have a little fun. Briefly, allow yourself the luxury of imagining your critics as uninformed idiots: just to remove the sting. Then be generous. For each critic figure out where the criticism is coming from then, gently show them why they are an ass. Ask Michael: he can tell you how to politely tell someone they are an ass. If you do it right, your critics will thank you for the feedback.and mean it.
