  1. Orthodontics require a lot of customization and precision. When I had braces as a kid, I had an appointment each month where I needed to get the wires retightened. For a while I had to use rubber bands on my braces to get my teeth to shift a certain way. It's like performing non-invasive surgery.

  2. Here in the United States, every middle school kid gets braces if their parents can afford it. I got them but now a few of my teeth are crooked because I stopped wearing my retainer for months years after getting the braces off -_- Yaeba would just be considered jacked up teeth here. I know not everyone's parents can afford to get them braces as kids, but if someone with crooked teeth reaches adulthood and still can't get their teeth fixed, that's pretty bad and that they must really not have much money if they can't fix something that's considered a top priority like their teeth. I know a few people who got braces as adults. At least they did something about it once they started earning their own money.
