@mk-tu3gv My grandpa's farm was built during the Tsarist era. He was a private in the Finnish army. When that is definition of a posh kulak, you can imagine how poor the rest were by 1932. I would not call Nikita Khrushchev as liberal, but he did embark on a policy of de-Stalinization in 1956. Finland had ousted the local communists before Stalin died in 1949. Sadly, China, Cambodia, North Korea, Mozambique, Ethiopia etc. did not get the memo "On the Cult of Personality and Its Consequences".
