Look at the German navy, it wasn't made for invasion. Chamberlain's hands were tied, because the Franco-Polish agreements were signed in February 1921. British attacked sparsely populated region of Finland without a declaration of war, but were destroyed. Then Churchill threatened and finally declared war on Finland, yet fled from Murmansk as Japan invaded the Asian colonies. Eventually, the Red Army occupies a Canadian mine in Petsamo, which is why Stalin pays compensation to the British.

@arras7224 Couple of thousand Soviet citizens fought in the Finnish army. They were persecuted in Finland until 1950s by the communist police, therefore deported to the USSR. However, they received a pension from Finland. I bet they never talked about the war.

Slawa Wacker At the beginning of 1914, Mannerheim was afforded the command of the Cavalry Brigade in Warsaw, a post which had been vacated. He left the Warsaw hunting club in late July to mobilize his brigade, and in a few days’ time Germany declared war against Russia. http://www.mannerheim.fi/05_s_ura/e_puola.htm

They also had plans during WW2

@mikealpha2611 Americans violated the blockade, at least in Finland and Switzerland. Finland and Canada were officially at war, but the US had a representative in Finland. Churchill gave up.

@mikealpha2611 That is why I said a plan. Planning is makes sense, even if implementation is unlikely. Britain was a fading empire.

@erikjohansson4275 Myanmar and Mexico are known for their human rights, but not in a good way

He is a populist. It seems to me that "violation of good manners" is prohibited in Russia. Moscow's Stalin-Themed Kebab Shop Purged Within 24 Hours Of Launch https://www.rferl.org/amp/russia-moscow-kebab-stalin-public-outcry/31042334.html

Slawa Wacker I'm sure some people say Nikolai created the Communists. Nevertheless, Mannerheim was the last czar standing.

Yes there is Eastern Europe, although Belarus is a geographical center. Moscow is the largest city in Europe.

Apparently the WW2 Slovak flag is the same as Russia's current one. In that sense, a Nazi flag.

@jangrosek4334 Knowing the family backgrounds of those involved, The Cudgel War was a Finland-Estonia independence war from Sweden. Sadly, the victims were innocent Swedes. Basically, people on the west coast still identify with Sweden. They deny any connection to Eastern Europe, which is kind of true. Tsar moved the capital to Helsinki, so that he doesn't have to visit Turku Yes, Finland was de facto Russia's successor, Czechoslovakia within Austria-Hungary : )
