Hitler was Austrian. Nazism increased and he was more popular in Austria in 1955 compared to 1933. Hitler was some kind of organizational psychopath, but I wouldn't call him stupid. Just like Putin sends those who threaten him to Ukraine. Hitler dismissed Fritz Darges on the spot and had him transferred to the Eastern Front.

Red Army troops and Germans were in Finland at the same time. As former rocket man, it's easier for me to understand Barbarossa than Overlord. You would think that the Atlantic Ocean would cool down a conflict. Better question, what if Hitler had left the North Atlantic and sent a few captains to be tried in the US mainland.

In one of the intercepted calls, a Russian soldier mentioned political officers. Made me think how was the Ministry of Propaganda organized in nazi-Germany. How many men were at the frontline?

Britain was de facto unable to fight. Vichy was a neutral country 1941-42. Canadian public opinion was still anti-war in 1943, but nazis are known for their rigidity. Fanatics were still gathering troops, when the war ended.

Certainly in an agrarian society, Lebensraum thinking is logical. However, humans are omnivores, not carnivores.

If Hitler wasn't crazy, it was only a matter of time. That's the problem of dictatorships. Urho Kekkonen was a madman. His election debate with himself cannot be shown on youtube because there was a giant swastika in the background.
