@pehmomarsu Keep in mind that Sixty-two percent of the Japanese Americans were United States citizens. Unlike in the Japanese Americans, Russians and Jews in Finland were not incarcerated during WW2. Jewish mortality rate was actually lower than the rest of the population. During the Russian Revolution many aristocrats and officers fled to Finland as refugees. The biggest refugee wave was in 1922 when about 33,500 people came to Finland. It's true that the treatment of Soviet citizens was not appropriate, but some lucky Soviet Russian POWs were treated as family members since 1942. Eventually, because of the War in Lapland, Finnish Christians were the largest group of Finns in the nazi concentration camps.

Extramarital relationship was taboo especially in such cases where the child's father was a Russian prisoner https://www.hs.fi/kulttuuri/art-2000005604374.html

@hitznkoff4285 Then there are also cases where the Soviets themselves executed "traitors". For example, major general Kirpichnikov was sent back to home in October 1944, but he was charged with treason and sentenced to death by the USSR Military Collegium.

@radomirpetrovic2457 Interestingly, the same debate is ongoing with the ISIS prisoners. At least in the modern times, the left-wing parties are in favor of better treatment for the Finnish ISIS women. The rest of the people do not feel sympathy for them.
