@BrotherAlpha No dictatorship is on a sustainable footing, regardless of the governance model. Which is why we rarely hear about the good deeds of National Socialism. Toward the end of the war, from December 1944 onwards, Helmut Schmidt served as an Oberleutnant in the Flakartillery on the Western Front during the Battle of the Bulge. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organization_for_Security_and_Co-operation_in_Europe#History

Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim was twice over Lord Protector of Finland / President, but each time relinquished his power prematurely.

Comparing the Polish economy with Germany is like saying the Allied economic policy was lousy in Dresden, Hiroshima etc. Nor does he realize that simply joining the Anti-Comintern Pact brings resources, not reduce. Even if you ignore the Swiss (60% speak German as their native language), Continental Europeans did better than South Asians, which is forgotten in such a narrow perspective.

@personaa422 So you say, nationalism and socialism is ok. Where would you put him on a political scale? Near JFK?

@personaa422 That makes sense, since the left-wingers were expelled from the Nazi Party. On the other hand, they were populists.

Wolfgang von Hessen was a member of the SA and joined the Nazi party in 1933. He fought for Finland in 1941-44, then for Germany in 1945. His wife was killed in an attack by the U.S. Army Air Forces during an air-raid on Frankfurt am Main. Wolfgang's story is interesting to me, because he was a potential king of Finland. Wolfgang was descendant of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom. After the war, he remarried and studied art. Only one hastily taken picture has survived in the Finnish archives. Jason Statham could portray him, if it were made into a movie : ) https://d1ddzfo1d7bgrb.cloudfront.net/aamulehti/23319628-800x_.jpg

@rickbeniers667 Just as Prussian von der Goltz helped Finland get rid of the Russian regime during WW1/Civil War. Nikolai Nekrasov was the last Russian Governor-General of Finland. Rüdiger von der Goltz stayed with his troops in Finland until December 1918 representing German interests, and in practise ruled the country as a military dictator during this period. The Inter-Allied Commission of Control insisted that the German troops remain in the Baltic states to prevent the region from being re-occupied by the Red Army. After which C.G.E. Mannerheim was also a regent until the situation calmed down. Stalin executed Nikolai Nekrasov in the aftermath of the Winter war in 1940. Communists viewed Nekrasov as too liberal.

@personaa422 There is no famine in Venezuela, therefore it's not real communism. Venezuela is more like Mexico than North Korea. Whatever you want to call them. Narco-state, ancap, anarcho-communism etc. Just because a Volkswagen broke down doesn’t mean you couldn’t drive an Audi. Nazbol society worked just fine in the second round. https://suomenpresidentit.fi/kekkonen/?lang=en

@personaa422 That’s why they are downright obese. We probably all agree that East Germany was white, nationalist and socialist dictatorship?

@gf6110 I tend to agree with TIK, but I noticed that SS Commander Karl-Erik Ladau came from a noble family. I don't know if that played a part in his rapid promotion. He was the first Finn to take command of an SS company and later became CEO of an insurance company. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varma_Mutual_Pension_Insurance_Company

Surely the British will also seize property if it does not promote the British interest. That is one reason why nations even exist. Thus, Churchill was a Nazi.
