You are Right, Diana supported the Royal Family after the divorce, was still friends with the Queen, she knew and was proud her son William would be a king and although she knew Harry was a bit dim, she thought he would do the right thing, would be William's right hand man, would be there for his brother, like William has always been there for Harry, but Harry's gone too far, there's no way back.

I don't think he burned the bridges, MM did, so there was no way back... he knows it, he's still delusional and sticking with the faith the MM is smart and will fix everything..but just to have some fun, he's going off with mates to get drunk and have a few hookers, etc....a good 40th birthday party for sure, better than home with the wife and kiddies!!!😂😂
