I bought my 2002 ES300 from a wholesaler small dealer. The original owner must’ve traded my car into a Lexus or other dealership and he only had the valet key. I bought a blank (uncut) master remote key from Amazon for about $8. I plan on bringing my car to a local business who deals with making master keys and spare keys. Sounds like he can do this since my Valet key must have a chip in it. Please confirm

@TheCarCareNut thanks for your quick reply! Yes I’m sure he can, I haven’t brought my car to him yet but will soon. I do need a second key as I’m still using my Valet key since April. Always have to open the door and trunk the “old fashioned way” with the key in the door and pushing the button on my dash for the trunk which I don’t mind. I keep my key on a large aluminum carabiner which is always clipped to my belt loop so I’m careful I don’t lose it BUT you never know !

@EfficientRVer they made and cut a new key with remote similar to a factory style key fob. Has the same 3 buttons except the button for the trunk doesn’t have a picture of the trunk, it says unlock and lock which is good enough. I know it’s for the trunk and that’s all that matters. Cost me $160 plus tax.
