Medicinal pot became legal in California in 96 but because of legal issues (like DEA raids and fascist prosecutors like Kameltoe Harris), it was years before medicinal pot shops actually opened. And even then, those that did were often raided and shut down by federal thugs as recently as a couple years ago. In fact, that other fascist piece of shit and imposter, Obama, raided far more LEGAL pot shops in California than Bush. Recreational pot has been legal for less than two years.
