@FastSloW-qt8xf property values in my state have increased almost 33% since the covid lockdowns started. A 200k house is now 300k. That prices out a lot of people, middle class included.

@ItsNotMeItsYou007 a minimum $3k a year tax hike, plus the local property tax increase due to the increased value, plus increased insurance costs... there's going to be lots of foreclosures

@ItsNotMeItsYou007 math isnt my strong suit. But that is how much house prices have increased in my area. I'm in CT and we got flooded with rich people fleeing NYC. My commie governor decided to cash in on it with a 1% state property tax on properties over $300k. Which is now just about every property in the state. And that 1% is on top of our already astronomical local property taxes
