Gotta love that "both sides" talk. I I had a nickel for every time Republicans justified Trump's antics by accusing everyone else of being corrupt.

In general, you don't go to jail for a DUI unless you've already done it 3 to 4 times or you killed someone. Otherwise the prisons would be overflowing with college kids.

She's not in the investigation anymore. That why she was allowed to go public (with certain restrictions on what she could talk about). The report is already written and it is up to the Atlanta DA if Trump will be charged with a crime.

@TheLarryDungeon No, most politicians aren't corrupt. But I can understand how a lot of people hold that belief because they don't see the sausage making that goes on behind closed doors to get things done. Not understanding why things operate the way they do causes people to think the whole system is corrupt.

America has something to gain by upholding the rule of law. If Obama had done 10% of what Trump has done, he would be serving a life sentence.
2
@ypw510 Maybe for a day. They usually let you out after a few hours if not immediately when you get a DUI
2
My question for Trump is why does he look for ways to stay in the news when he's being targeted by 5 different criminal probes.
2
@Ninnjette- To think that Trump might get off for election interference because someone wanted their 15 minutes of fame. Teflon Don. It's always something. Either someone trying to screw up the process because they got too excited like this girl. Or someone willing to go to prison to protect (quite a few of his lawyers and advisors)
1
@Ninnjette- Democrats didn't say Trump's election was fraudulent. We said it wasn't fair because the electoral college overruled the will of the majority. The government didnt suppress Hunter Biden's laptop story. It was Twitter. And it was only suppressed for 2 days almost a month before the election. I can't imagine what you think is going to be in the unreleased Jan 6 video that's going to negate all the violence that we already saw. I watched it live the day it happened. There was no hoax. It was a bunch of Trump supporters beating police officers.
1
@niheller8123 It's looking like she might charge him on RICO charges with a bunch of other people. Basically a racketeering scheme to overturn his loss. Like a gang. But she could just charge him with soliciting election interference. That phone call Trump made to Georgia asking for more votes and for them to "recalculate" was unbelievably incriminating. And people have been saying since Day 1 that this is the investigation that's most likely to send him to prison.

@asamisaito The country is not in bad shape though. Unemployment is at record lows, the stock market is nearly at record highs, inflation is nearly down from 9% to 3% (with a 2% target). Industrial and infrastructure activity is high and still rising.
1
@Jim-MT We were not better off during the last administration. It was choas every single day. Then the pandemic. Social unrest. The only reason Republicans want Trump back is to cause mote social unrest.
1
@colbysmith8236 No. I'm not joking. Outside of the Fox News universe (whose their audience is seen by Fox itself as a bunch of idiots and intentionally lied to for ratings), Obama had very few actual scandals.
1
And the Georgia conspiracy/racketeering case for trying to overturn the election there.
1
His supporters will commit another insurrection.
1
Yeah, too bad DePape didn't keep everything within line of sight to appease the conspiracy theorists who want to act like MAGA is not violent extremism.
1
@deadbrothers8348 Evidence?
1
She did step down. Otherwise she would still be Minority Leader.
1
You will see what you want to see to support your politics. But Paul Pelosi did end up with a fractured skull. Some pretty intense "acting."
1
@mgmoore426 Yeah sure. Tucker was bringing the truth, yet he was fired after Fox lost a lawsuit over lying

@Resistculturaldecline To represent the population in Chicago, there should have been 4 black jurors. There is less than a 1% chance of having only 1 Black juror if its all random. Actually it's a 0.000166788% chance. The reason it matters is because if you remember history, all-white juries had a habit of convicting Black people of crimes they knew they didn't commit. Given that the jury needs to be unanimous on a guilty verdict, it is highly suspect when they get rid of all the Black people during jury selection.
1
@Mrcool19771 Jussie's lawyers could get rid of jurors, yes. But prosecutors could all strike jurors from the pool. Apparently the prosecutors felt only a single Black person was unbiased. For a jury of 12 in a city that is one-third Black. Not that Jussie is innocent, but there's still something wrong with that. Less than a 1% chance of that happening randomly.
1
@llwc9435 He never thought the police would actually investigate. He just wanted the media attention.
1
@kasey9067 It's because the city of Chicago is one-third Black. There is a 0.000166788% chance of ending up with a jury of 12 people with just one Black person if it is all random. Basically impossible. Like the guy said, there were more, but they were all struck from the jury pool before trial. As for why it matters, all-white juries have a dark history when it comes to judging Black people in court.

@Misaka-gt5yj Identity politics? Really? It's because the city of Chicago is one-third Black. There is a 0.000166788% chance of ending up with a jury of 12 people with just one Black person if it is all random. Basically impossible. Like the guy said, there were more, but they were all struck from the jury pool before trial. 1
@JR-lg8sq Not exactly. The other two were not on trial for a crime.
1
@danksanchez4324 Canada has cities too.
