IRIE4IPIER The reason Republicans can't come up with a replacement is because Obamacare was their plan. The entire concept is Republican. Straight from the Heritage Foundation, funded by the Koch brothers. A capitalist marketplace with government regulation. Even the madate. All of it Republican, designed to appeal to Republicans. But the wrong party passed it so all of a sudden Republicans hate their own plan.
What I don't get....in various surveys, Republicans love every single one of the various parts and provisions of Obamacare (except for the mandate). But as soon as you tell them it's actually Obamacare, they quickly remember that they hate it. It just blows the mind. I think it's a rule that you must hate Obamacare if you want to be Republican.
And when you point out their flip-flop, they come up with some excuse about Obamacare not being able to work because "something, something, something, Big Government! Something, something, something, Government Takeover!" Lol.
Think long and hard before you respond.

@johntomasik1555 Yes, you are unlikely to die. But I can only assume that most people sitting in a hospital bed felt the same way you do. Because if they thought they were likely to get really sick, they would have gotten the shot. You can talk all you want about us "not having data" but what I said is pretty logical. It's not only about whether you die. It's about preventing you and anyone you possibly spread it to from ending up in the hospital.
I still don't understand what you're talking about as far as mass murder. Can you eleborate? If I can recall, Democrats did not send us to Iraq or Afghanistan. And Obama actually pulled us out of Iraq, (although we ended up going back because ISIS started attacking us). And Biden just pulled us out of Afghanistan.
I do want to point out something. I actually did check that data. Truthfully speaking the rate of growth in healthcare costs actually fell after Obamacare went into effect.
Yes, some people who made too much to qualify for subsidies (perhaps 10% of the people on an Obamacare plan) paid ridiculous amounts in premiums, but that was always fixable. An easy tweak to the law, but conservatives found it politically beneficial to let those people suffer to help their repeal movement. But Biden just fixed it with his Covid relief bill (everyone now qualifies for subsidies). But anyway, what you said about Obamacare causing overall healthcare costs to rise faster is actually the opposite of the truth. Just wanted to point that out since that's a common false talking point from conservatives and libertarians who want Obamacare to fail. But don't believe me, check the data.
And no, not ONLY black lives matter. But if I tell you my home is burning down and you respond "Well everyone's home matters," then you are missing the point.

@captinbeyond First of all, from a purely political standpoint, no president, Democrat or Republican wants gas prices to go up. It is bad for their reelection chances, damages their approval rating, and hurts the American people in their wallets. Biden is actually asking oil companies to pump MORE gas, not less. Also, Keystone XL was years from being operational. Check your facts.
1. As far as domestic oil production, Democrats cannot do anything to force oil companies sitting on millions of acres of land that was leased to them that they are not drilling. They benefit from these high gas prices, so they are not in a hurry to drill more. When gas prices go down, domestic oil companies go out of business since they can't make a profit.
2. Regarding getting more oil from overseas, Democrats cannot do anything to force OPEC, Russia, and the Middle East to pump more oil if they like their current profits.
3. Regarding supply and demand, demand is WAY up, but supply is not being increased. Also, supply chain issues like not enough truck drivers and overcrowded ports are slowing everything down and raising prices.
The cost of gas is determined by many factors, and Joe Biden knows it's in his best interest to do everything he can to get prices to go back down.
