angel paige Shocking how Republicans immediately reverted to this "too much debt" strategy as soon as Biden got elected. Just like clockwork. Apparently the 7 trillion in debt run up by Trump wasn't that big a deal at the time. But now Biden must not spend a dime and must only focus on cleaning up Trump's debt. Once again Republicans are blaming Democrats for problems willingly created by Republicans. Did it to Obama with the financial crisis and the debt. Doing it again to Biden with the debt. Anything to win, right?

Paying a fair share means they should at least pay something. All these huge corporations use accounting tricks and legal loopholes to avoid paying taxes every single year. Why do you think that is okay? What I can't figure out about conservatives is that one month they are always criticizing huge corporations for taking advantage of us, then the next minute they are defending those same practices in the name of capitalism. There's a term for that: cognitive dissonance. When you constantly complain about something and say you hate it, but then continue to support it out of habit.

@johnlerner5346 It's language like that that causes us to be so divided. I don't care what you say, language like that is about 10x more likely to come out of the mouth of a Republican. But then they blame Biden and Obama for being "divisive". I don't think I've ever heard a Democrat call someone of the opposite party "scum" for having a different point of view about what's good for the country. This is how we end up with domestic terrorism.

Oil companies getting very, very rich. They are sitting on millions of acres of drillable land that was leased to them, but they are NOT drilling. Because these price increases are good for them. We should tell those truckers to make back the money they are paying for gas by investing in oil company stocks. It'll all balance out.

@captinbeyond First of all, from a purely political standpoint, no president, Democrat or Republican wants gas prices to go up. It is bad for their reelection chances, damages their approval rating, and hurts the American people in their wallets. Biden is actually asking oil companies to pump MORE gas, not less. Also, Keystone XL was years from being operational. Check your facts. 1. As far as domestic oil production, Democrats cannot do anything to force oil companies sitting on millions of acres of land that was leased to them that they are not drilling. They benefit from these high gas prices, so they are not in a hurry to drill more. When gas prices go down, domestic oil companies go out of business since they can't make a profit. 2. Regarding getting more oil from overseas, Democrats cannot do anything to force OPEC, Russia, and the Middle East to pump more oil if they like their current profits. 3. Regarding supply and demand, demand is WAY up, but supply is not being increased. Also, supply chain issues like not enough truck drivers and overcrowded ports are slowing everything down and raising prices. The cost of gas is determined by many factors, and Joe Biden knows it's in his best interest to do everything he can to get prices to go back down.

@johnlerner5346 Dems are not supporting the destruction of America. It might seem like that to you. But everyone has a different idea of what will make America better. But if we just use common sense, neither party wants to "destroy" America. You just don't agree with their ideas.

@Jim-MT There is not a high school in America that is teaching CRT. Why do so many Republicans in America believe that nonsense. We went from fake election fraud to fake CRT. CRT is a college level course that most colleges don't even offer. But conservatives keep hearing from their "sources" that their kids are learning it in school. Nonexistent issues to stir up anger. Always more culture wars.

@captinbeyond Actually you can be on both sides. The goal is to wean us off gas and oil at a REASONABLE pace. You seem to have ignored all the other points I made because it's just easier to blame the president than actually be right. Increasing gas prices is not and has never been part of the Democratic platform.The Democratic platform from the past 50 years is freely available online. I suggest you go re-read them and stop making stuff up because it makes you feel righteous. Please go back and re-read my earlier points about why gas prices are currently high. Unless those issues are too complex for a mind that just need one person to blame.

@captinbeyond I already told you that we have the capacity to greatly increase domestic oil production. Domestic oil companies are sitting on millions of acres of land already leased to them and are not pumping oil because they benefit from the higher prices. And it hurts them when prices go down. Like I said before, do you actually care about being right or do you just want the easy way out by blaming Biden and the Democrats? Try googling "Why are gas prices so high". Unless you're so stuck in your views that you have no interest.

Trying to ban certain books from being required reading material. Threatening to sue teachers who bring up race in the classroom. Censorship??
