Which means he will massively overpay for a deal that is about 95 percent likely to go through. He wanted to be a troll so he signed a contract. While also giving up his rights to access information on the bots. Like it or not, Twitter did not break their end of the deal. The way the contract was written, they have a massive advantage over Musk to force the deal to close as originally agreed.

Why. That's not smart for Twitter. That's literally the opposite of what would be smart for Twitter. Musk signed a contract and then tried to back out based on "bots", but he willingly forfeited the due diligence part as part of the contract terms.

@garyK.45ACP I told you bro, the deal is an immensely seller-advantaged deal. Twitter can but does NOT have to let Musk off the hook with just that $1 billion cancelation fee. They really can force him to continue the agreed upon purchase regardless. That's the whole reason why took him to court. It's not a stretch to say they foresaw him doing something like this from a mile away.

Why are you cheering for their comeuppance? Musk is literally obout to own the company in a few months

Problem is Musk got overconfident and gave up his rights to see how many bots there were. He literally has no right to back out of the deal, try as hard as he might.

@cloudnine9528 It's up to Elon to prove that it's fabricated. But given his recent tweets, he doesn't seem to understand the basic statistics behind how Twitter came up with their numbers. Or, more likely, he got buyers remorse after value of the Tesla stock he was using to fund the purchase crashed by 30 percent. And the value of Twitter crashed. Which means he will have to sell off way more Tesla shares than he was expecting while also massively overpaying for Twitter.
