@joshjosh575 Yeah but their batteries are made by Panasonic. Pretty sure someone else can buy from Panasonic or develop similar battery tech. "Decades ahead" doesn't sound realistic. Tesla hasn't even been in existence for decades. And everyone is working on new battery technology. Also, Rivian has higher range than the equivalent Tesla. Also, the big infrastructure bill they passed the end of 2021 has money for installing thousands of charging stations across the country.

@joshjosh575 Doesn't matter if Tesla can undercut the government. What matters is how many total charging stations get built. The funding is for 500,000. Even if it ends up at half that number, it will be an enormous investment that will benefit all EVs. For perspective, Tesla currently has 40,000.
