  3. Leaks happen under every president. Under Trump, I remember very clearly that we had leaks about wrongdoing in the government on an almost daily basis.

  8. ​ @jasonh5547  What if they court martial him for separate documents? I've heard in news reporting that each of the 300 or so documents is its own criminal charge. Which means they could theoretically charge him 150 counts in civilian court and 150 counts in military court without double jeopardy.

  10. One could argue that it's illegal any time we have secret special forces in a country. But we only complain about it in Ukraine because extreme MAGA Republicans want Russia to win.

  11. Because the Supreme Court leak didn't break any laws. So the FBI wasn't involved. The Supreme Court carried out their own investigation.

  12. @sewjee The military and FBI followed the trail of document breadcrumbs to the source. Subpoenaed Discord for his profile info and billing records. Spoke to his online friends. Checked printer and search logs from the base he worked at. They were going to surveille him for a few weeks to see if he was working with anyone. But news outlets located him too and identified his name so the FBI went in for the arrest.

  14. There is plenty to hide from adversarial governments. Everything that was released was secret intelligence about other countries. Any way you look at it, this is bad for America. Nothing about this release helps us in any way.
