SHTF Now What Both parties are NOT the same. Republicans are the "religious party" but they are willing to do some really shady stuff to hold onto power. Spreading Russian propaganda, stealing Supreme Court judges, the attack on the capitol. Birtherism. Conspiracy theories. Also, most Republicans are NOT interested in bipartisanship. They are not interested in being government by someone who won the popular vote and the electoral college. None of these qualities apply to Democrats.

Melanie Campbell And yet we are not the only country that shut down. I think you're forgetting that every other country also shut down. The point is not only to stop people from dying. It's to stop the healthcare system from collapsing from too many hospitalizations. Maybe you don't remember, but our hospitals just barely survived the surge we had this winter almost 300,000 cases per day. In India, people are dying in the parking lot just waiting for a hospital bed. China had to build a new hospital in 2 weeks to keep up with cases. Italy's healthcare system almost collapsed. My point is that it's not that someone is always out to get you and control your life.

Melanie Campbell I overplayed my hand? Since when is being overprepared overplaying your hand? Besides, I didn't personally do anything except go to work and live my life. And as I mentioned before, it's not just about fatalities. No one wants to end up in the hospital with Covid pneumonia (like many young people do) (like Trump did) and get lung scarring, heart, lung, kidney, and blood vessel damage. Also, your entire plan rests on young people never coming into contact with older people until everyone is immune. Good luck with that 👌🏽. You say your local hospital wasn't in a crisis, so therefore no other hospitals narionwide could have been in crisis. Jumping to conclusions based on one single example. I don't understand why conservatives are so desperate to downplay the virus. Complete lack of empathy for other people. It's always about YOU, YOU, YOU. All we had to do was wait a year for the vaccines. And look, everything is opening back up again. No "resets". So please just chill.
