@acspirit Why is it that people only care about the debt when a Democrat it in the White House. The debt went up like crazy under Trump and no one said a peep. Republicans did this same thing to Obama. We we're in a recession and Republicans made him cut all kinds of spending just to keep the government open. Then Trump got elected and Republicans spent like crazy, cut taxes like crazy, debt went up like crazy. Not a peep. Now Biden is in office during a recession again and all Republicans want to talk about is the debt. Does anyone actually fall for this mess?

@acspirit It doesn't matter what the news media is telling people. All I'm saying is that any conservative who complains about the debt after the Trump years has no credibility. They are complaining just to have something to complain about.

@ChristinaGerard433 The deficit was not at 3 trillion. The other commenter was correct that the yearly deficit was at half a trillion when Trump took office. Then it went to 1 trillion after Trump passed his tax cuts since the government was taking in less money but still spending more. Then Covid hit and the deficit went up even more. But no one said a word until Biden got elected. As usual, Republicans create a massive deficit problem then put the onus on Democrats to fix it once power changes hands. Republicans did it with Bush -> Obama and are doing it all over again with Trump -> Biden.

Democrats have to pass HR1! Republicans are at a serious competitive disadvantage when ALL citizens actually come out to vote, so they are doing everything they can to make it harder to vote (especially for black and brown people, younger and lower income voters). It would be incredibly dumb for Democrats to just let that happen and let Republicans rig the system so they can run the country even though they have lost every popular vote since 2004. Say no to minority rule.

He's talking about the stimulus checks. Those are more targeted based on income. Less people will get a check this time then the last couple times.

The last 2 covid relief bills were deliberately meant to be short term. This really should be the last one. Unless the virus mutates and we have to start this process all over again from scratch.
