Yea, people knew what he really meant. But why has there been so much hate for the "other" since he started running for office. I thought you said that people knew what he really "meant." Sounds to me like a few too many people took him seriously. Neo-Nazis and Alt-right parades and what-not. I wonder if maybe you're only considering yourself. Apparently some Trump supporters were surprised when it turned out that he was going to build a "real" wall, and that he was "really" going to take their Obamacare away. He likes to say that he keeps his promises...so he's either 1) a liar or 2) people didn't "actually" know what he meant.
