Because the Constitution doesn't actually mention most of the things we argue over. It's the job of judges to literally just make stuff up and write us an explanation about how they came to their conclusions. Both right-wing and left-wing judges.

@stevenfromer3816 In all honesty, the Constitution doesn't say much. The US has one of the world's shortest constitutions. Most of the stuff conservatives say is in there isn't actually ever mentioned. The judges just make it up as they go. Not exaggerating about this. All these judges just go and "find" the evidence elsewhere that is needed to back up the ruling they already wanted to make.

@romanmax8561 They did start these Trump cases years ago. All four of them. The Georgia one started the month after he left office. The Jack Smith one started right after the Jan 6 committee was done. The documents investigation started several months after he left office and his home was searched the summer of 2022. The hush money investigation started while he was still in office. He is the one who decided to run while he was already under four different investigations. Declaring his candidacy was not going to stop him from being charged.
