What do you mean by establishment politicians? Doesn't that just mean anyone who has been there for more than a few years?

@nicholasrouleau8280 They keep getting reelected because of name recognition and money. People already in office almost always have a built in advantage. It's one of the reasons Biden is running again instead of hoping another Democrat can win.

@FWBromberg A lot of times, pet projects are needed to get enough votes for passage. Yes, you are buying someone's vote so they have something to go home and tell their constituents about. Also, what counts as ridiculous spending to you? I hear this a lot from conservatives, but they are never able to specify anything they would actually cut that would save more than 0.0001% of spending. Which means they are just looking for reasons to complain without offering meaningful solutions.

@megpie9971 Not true. There is not one thing that Democrats have done themselves that they are accusing Republicans of doing here. Just Republican hopes and dreams that they can blame "both sides" for causing all the dysfunction and people will believe it.
