@pilotmanpaul In Russia, you're in the INACTIVE reserve only for doing the mandatory military service. They don't ask you if you want to be on the inactive reserve, everyone is in there. Which means, we are talking about conscripts not reservists. That's why there is people being dragged from university or their job. The INACTIVE reserve don't exist in the western world.

@pilotmanpaul lol okay so they are reservist only in Russia you get that right? They did the mandatory military service once and never came back, they don't have training after that. They are conscripts not reservists by western standards.

BTW if you read the mobilization order, which is public, nowhere it says 300.000 soldiers. Most likely they are more.

You're wrong in your first statement. This new Russian "soldiers" are conscripts, not reservist by the west point of view. You may want to check what diference there is between the ACTIVE reserve (which is the same thing here in the western world) and the INACTIVE reserve, which is people that only have the mandatory military service, and the military don't ask you if you're there or not.

Funny thing don't you think? In Russia, there is something called "BARS". This is the russian reserve, people that have been in the army and after their contract ended, they chose voluntarily to sign a reserve contract, basically to show up on the barracks one month per year as refreshing training in case the army needs you, you're paid while on the reserve. This people have been called up months ago already, you just don't know it. Now, the people we are talking here, this "300.000" new mobilized men, are NOT from BARS, this people are in the inactive military reserve. This people have only done the mandatory military service, they never serve in the active military forces, they were never deployed and they were there for a year at maximum. After that, they never received fresh training, and many of the men called up ended their service many, many years ago. They never signed a contract to be on the reserve, do you get that? They are conscripts by definition, here and in Russia. Why dont you go and read the order?

@milosmilictrob2046 They are not called up for exercises, they are not from BARS. Do you even know what it's BARS? Have you even read the mobilization order? They are conscripts, they are called conscripts on the paper. They did for one year the mandatory military service, many of them many years ago, and never came back until now. Stop listening to what others say and go to take a look yourself.

@kenwes6560 IRR stands for Individual Ready Reserve. As you say, you need to join the army previously to be there. In Russia, you only need the mandatory military service, which is 25 million people that did one year when they were 18, and haven't been back in the army since then. They were never soldiers. They are NOT in the BARS, they are by definition conscripts. Go and read the mobilization order from the 21 of September, it's public.

The first statement of the video is wrong, this "300.000" (probably many more) are from the INACTIVE reserve, aka conscripts. That's quite a blunder mate, check the diference between western reserves and Russian reserves!

But this 300.000 people, probably many more because the exact number is not written on the mobilization order (which is public except for the point 7) are from the INACTIVE reserve. Do you know what's that?

Also, for being in the Russian inactive reserve, the only thing needed is the mandatory military service (25 million people) , for the IRR you need to had a contract with the army previously as an active member.

They only did the mandatory military service (25 million people, not soldiers) , and they are by definition conscripts. I think you need to go and read the definition of conscripts, and after that you should go and read the mobilization orders. Its easy, one page long and public. It's incredible that you're all wrong and you only need to read the orders to realize.

Before telling me my english is bad take a dictionary or at least read the documents we are talking about here. You guys really need to read more.
