  7.  @orangypteco8858  Bay of pigs was averted, so can this. Russia does not need to wait to strike. They could just as easily do a false flag to justify their escalation. If both sides wanted it, Russia would provoke Ukraine like it did with Crimea, and Ukraine would have joined NATO already to make sure they would not go down like Poland did.
