@RealJohnnyDingo wel that was her way of thinking, but that RAV4 was paid off. A few thousands dollars later and it’s still her car. Now 5 more years of payments plus interest and still will end up performing maintenance on it. Her money, her choices.

@RealJohnnyDingo well your a smart man and crunched your numbers. Most people make financial decisions based on emotions and NOT logic then later complain about money and piece a crap car. If they only put that jokey aside of their car payment for an emergency fund. Then the car needs maintenance, that little pile of money of already there for them to use. It’s all a matter of perspective. 6 of one or half dozen of the other, as my military mentors would say….

Customer had a 2010 RAV4 with 105,000 miles. She needed struts, spark plugs and transmission filter change. Chose to trade in the RAV4 instead of performing the maintenance. At least she bought another Toyota 🤦🏻‍♂️
