  1. Make sure you keep an eye on the trunk lid shocks. Replace them when you see they don’t work. Otherwise, it will cost you an extra $750.00 plus labor to replace that mechanized electric latch. The violent closing action destroys the small motor and the gears

  2.  @mrlong6267  did you replace the entire locking mechanism? Don’t forget the trunk lid struts as well. It’s a feature that only visors problems in the long run. I’m not sure if it’s an option to exclude it…..

  3. The LS series has a electrical/electronic trunk opener/closer. I just replaced one on a GS series and they are NOT cheap. The latch retails over $700.00. The trunk lid struts/shocks are $75.00 each. It’s a very nice feature, but a bit outlandish for a trunk closing feature.
