@zzzzzzzz8498 99.87% survival/recovery rate for COVID among Ontario residents under 60 years of age. That's according to the Ontario government's OWN DATA. You did know that, didn't you?

If you thought the 2008 financial crisis was a hotbed of dirty money and corruption, the COVID crisis of the last year has that beaten by a factor of a hundred.

@zzzzzzzz8498 You get your virus information from the news? Oh you poor sweet summer child. Since you are, by your own admission that naive, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell to you!

@Kupacolypse Unfortunately, Ezra Levant has a few skeletons in his closet too which impact his trustworthiness. But credit where credit is due, his outfit is the only one bucking the fearmongering trend the rest of the news media in Canada has avidly pursued.

Incompetence or corruption, take your pick. (It might even be both.)

They won't be able to do that until the fall when respiratory virus season kicks off again.

I don't. I come here to mock them in the comments.

@mpatm2607 Given that non-LTC cases in Ontario have a 99%+ survival rate, that outcome seems unlikely. You did know non-LTC cases have a 99%+ survival rate, didn't you? The Ontario government's own data shows it.

You don't need to do anything to get down to that case level, since seasonality will do that on its own this year, just like it did last year. The active case count has dropped 11 days in a row, and is now 13% below the peak hit on April 19th. And given that hospitalizations correlate closely with the active case count, hospitalization numbers will be dropping too (and have already been trending down). ICU numbers are more stubborn, and curiously high compared to January's active case spike, but even so ICU figures should soon start curving down.

Yes, Pravda News, that promising news is called SPRING. As in COVID, like its fellow respiratory virus cousins, is seasonal. April 24th, 2020: active case count in Ontario peak April 19th, 2021: active case count in Ontario peak A five day difference over the course of a year. Coincidence? Of course not.
