@Victoria Stephenson She didn't though. She lost something like 6 points but only in Midwestern states.

Lisa Lisa Gotta fix the system first. There's a pretty good bill out there now - HR 4000 aka the Fair Representation Act.
1
Sheldon Adelson dumped $75 million into Trump's campaign a few days ago. The super rich on both sides are a problem. Also, gonna need a source on Biden raising taxes by 65% because that sounds like lunacy.
1
@valeriew5934 Well, if Ice Cube and 50 Cent are voting for Trump then everyone must be. And I'm pretty sure that 4 trillion is over 10 years. You could get there by just taxing the rich and corporations.
1
@rlk2726 Then it's the Senate's job to fix it. And Mitch McConnell is a big reason why nothing's been passed there.
1
@rlk2726 Who is Pelosi blocking? The Senate is the one that needs to counter her bill; they haven't passed one yet.
1
You could absolutely do it just with things from 2020
1
Dem-run Congress? Each party runs one house of Congress. Place the blame equally.
1
@AD-wm9if Saagar also didn't make that distinction. I'm sure it has an effect on our stats in April vs. our stats now, but our cases are still double what we had at our low point in May.

Because the polls aren't plus R

@ddannydaniel3340 We have seen Trump's administration ban travel from various majority-Muslim countries, ban openly transgender people from joining the military, and hold legal asylum seekers in detention centers with horrifying conditions. But more importantly, any random schmuck can be a fascist if they often say and think fascist things. Just like any random schmuck can be a socialist, or a conservative.
1
@scottwill6498 A lot to unpack there. You're claiming that China has "taken over" the US because they made a lot of the products we own, big business is helping China but Trump is against this big business plot, China sent out the coronavirus on purpose, and are intentionally giving lead poisoning to our children? That's one of the most insane things I've ever heard.

Don't forget about the Animal Crossing promo
1
A humming economy with 16 to 30 million unemployed people?
1
Look at the stock market numbers and you'll have your answer
1
You're assuming the result of 3 different elections. If Biden's term is as lackluster as I think it'll be, the GOP could take the presidency in 2024. Or even Jamaal Bowman or someone like that. The only thing a Biden win gets us is 4 years of Biden and/or Harris.
1
Kudlow saying there's a housing boom is just stunning. One of the most out of touch things I've ever heard.
1
@Theonetruegod-hw2ei Outside of their general authoritarian nature, communism and fascism are opposites.
1
I don't know if you mean that as a good thing or a bad thing. But yes. Reaganomics needs to die in 2021.
1
@anthonyw9129 A lot of confidence from someone who not only needs the pollsters to screw up again, but by an even larger margin than last time.
1
@javier8015 COVID is totally playing a part. But even if you allow everyone to do things like they did before, it doesn't mean they're going to. Lots of people will still play it safe, order things online, avoid theaters/concerts/sporting events, and so on. We can't fix the lack of demand until we get the COVID under control.
1
@kennycypert615 Hasn't there been a conservative Supreme Court for like the last 40 years? If abortion is so wrong, why hasn't it been outlawed yet? And no one's arguing for post-birth abortion. Stop being intentionally misleading.
1
@kennycypert615 I think that Virginia bill got voted down, but someone did propose it so I was wrong there. I wouldn't recommend aborting a fetus in the 9th month; preferably you'd do it in the first trimester or not at all. But from a legal standpoint I'd allow it. When we count someone's age for the purpose of voting, drinking, etc., we start at their birth. Personhood doesn't begin until birth. So until then, the fetus is part of the woman's body and she has the freedom to do what she wants with it.

Please come back when Trump loses so we can properly mock you

You're also free to vote by mail and have it counted. 21% of voters did that in 2016. This isn't unusual.
1
@replynotificationsdisabled Mail-in voting has been promoted more for older voters. The protesters are mostly in their 20s and 30s. They're two different groups of people.
1
@replynotificationsdisabled Do you have any proof of this particular party taking advantage of mail-in voting's flaws, or are you just making baseless accusations? The majority of states already had laws allowing you to request an absentee ballot for any reason. So by some bizarre logic, you're suggesting that we should limit that freedom? That doesn't make any sense. If you want to vote in person, vote in person. If you want to vote absentee, vote absentee. That's how we did it in 2018, and 2016, and who knows how far back. Absentee voting is normal.
1
@rustyknives9681 "If you want an opinion of your own, then watch this documentary of someone else's opinion." I'll pass, thanks.
1
I'm not sure if you noticed the Congresspeople conveniently selling off stocks before the coronavirus crash, or the massive stimulus giveaway to big corporations. The swamp is still very much in play, and Trump couldn't care less. As long as he can make money by getting people to invest in Regeneron and Eli Lilly.
1
True, the House already did their part. The Heroes Act has been sitting in the Senate queue since May.
1
San Francisco and Kentucky voters to name a few. The fact that Pelosi and McConnell will get re-elected after this shitshow is appalling.
1
You said the key phrase in there - "When COVID-19 is gone". Re-opening now isn't going to magically solve everything, because people aren't willing to go out and spend the same way with COVID all over the place. You gotta solve the COVID problem first. At least get it down to a reasonable level. Maybe we do a European-style shutdown with wage replacement and actual good stimulus. Maybe we do it some other way. But a lot of people want to skip that step and I don't think that's going to work.
1
On a rhetorical level, solving the Red Mirage issue is doable. Though I realize Trump and his followers will never admit when they've been argued into a corner, and the media is not responsible enough to do this. The phrase "mail-in votes". Get rid of it. Never say that shit. They are all "absentee votes". We need to wait for the absentee votes to get counted. If Trump tries to claim victory on election night, just be like, "Hold up, don't the absentee voters matter? I thought absentee votes were valid." In a sensible world, that would fix the problem. Unfortunately we don't live in that world, but whatever, there's my two cents on the issue.
1
I wish they would make it official to make room for a populist party.
1
Just give it two weeks lol
1
Nah, they've got all the best drugs. He can go a couple years.
1
There's no way Saagar wasn't going to talk about the Biden emails.
1
@flamos44 I'm assuming the NYC mayor (Bloomberg?) was responsible for gentrifying Brooklyn; that wouldn't be the President's business. And I'm not even sure what "gave a middle finger to the Midwest" means. He was given a recession and started the economic trends that became Trump's "great economy". C is a very fair grade.
1
Mail-in voting is more susceptible to fraud than in-person voting, but it doesn't come close to invalidating the election like Trump claims. Some states run entire elections by mail. 21% of the votes in the 2016 presidential election were sent by mail. It's not some new fringe thing.
1
@Dtown3 Do you have information that I don't? Because what I see in other countries is a strong reduction in coronavirus cases and deaths, combined with minimal losses of employment. Yes, they're hitting a second wave now, but it's much easier to handle when the starting point is a few hundred cases per day. It's hard to imagine that the U.S. doing a legit shutdown + wage replacement would have yielded a worse result than what we have now.
1
@Dtown3 Europe would beg to differ. And you conveniently left out the "+ wage replacement" part of my statement. Of course things aren't going to go well if you close businesses and then give everyone one $1200 check to last 6 months. You have to make sure businesses and individuals have enough money to get through the shutdown. And it's not really surprising that all the dense New England states that were the first to get hit with coronavirus ended up having the most deaths. Their numbers are looking pretty good now. I'd love to know why the death rate is so high in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arizona, which aren't very dense at all.
1
Or even better, it should be automatic until we get back down to a decent level of unemployment.
1
No one is calling for open borders
1
The Democratic party doesn't want Bernie anywhere near the presidency. They're totally fine with Biden just existing and doing nothing.
1
@Ravi9A Who do you have in mind? Because I would also say Reagan.
1
You know the Republicans engage in all kinds of voter suppression, right? Trump is not a beacon of freedom either.
1
The sass was top notch, but didn't a bunch of the Russiagate stuff get confirmed recently by the Senate Intelligence Committee?
1
Was it during Obama's presidency or the tail end of Bush's? People like to assign the recession to Obama but the actual crash was in 2008.
1
No thanks
1
@coopwannabee8675 They were pretty good in 2018.
