  1. The Caspian Report already made a Video prescily about that Topic. Because Germany has many navigable rivers, its population and economy has always been decentralized, and so it could never achieve Political unity. The Holy Roman Empire was just a confederation of small kingdoms, principalities and duchies, who occasionally warred against each other. Since they were all small states, they could not rely on large numbers of manpower and industry (like other European powers), forcing the emergence of a culture of Quality in Industry & Population and Free commerce. By the time Germany was Unified as an Empire, it already had a highly educated & industrious population. Now, right after the end of WW2, the first Chancellor of West Germany, Konrad Adenauer, Implemented OrdoLiberalism, which states that the Government must create and maintain a legal environment that ensures healthy competition in order to establish a Social Market.

  4. I think the EU should become a Federation with Swiss-style Direct Democracy. Something like this: -There will be only Collective Heads of Government/State at any Level of Government. -Citizens will be able to vote on Laws/Bills in referendums, to Pass, Veto or repeal them, if about 10%-15% of Voters signatures are collected in a certain amount of time. -Referendum results will have legal precedent over Decisions by the Legislature of the same Government Level, but Not over the Constitution or Laws passed by a higher level of Government. -There will be two Citizenships: European Citizenship, which will be Jus Solis and Guaranteed to any one Born in EU territory. And National Citizenship, which will be given by each Nation in accordance to their own laws regarding the matter. -Continental Government: It will have the responsibilities and powers to establish a European Military, Conduct Monetary policy, Conduct Diplomacy with other Countries, Give European Citizenship, Manage Immigration and Commerce between State/Provinces/Cantons. Continental Law and Referendums will have precedence over Local laws and Referendums. -State/Province/Canton: They will be created from Pre-existing Subdivision (like Germany's Bundeslander or France's Departamanets), and have all the powers and responsibilities not Given to Continental Government. -Nations: They will be remnants of the countries that formed the Union. They will exist between the Continental Government and the States, and have power to give National Citizenship and Conduct Diplomacy. Any more functions and powers will be Given by their constituent States/cantons/Provinces

  5. Theodore McCarthy The present systems of commerce do benefit the majority of people. The Problems lay internally in each country, not on the commerce it self. The unwillingness to adapt and conduct intelligent reform. Think about it. In the past, the disputes between China and the US, or between The core EU countries and Peripheral countries, they would all have entered into hot open conflict, but they do not. Not simply because of fear of military conflict, but because commerce gives them something big to loose.
