@miller5170 The only way renting isn't throwing money away is if you actually use the capital you would use to buy the property to make more capital. Otherwise I agree with you, even if you're paying more for buying than renting, you are still investing. What kind of mental gymnastics is this ? Renting is a cost center, Buying is an investment center because by the end you got an asset that can be sold, with renting you get nothing.
