Honestly, I don't care, normal people just follow crowds, everyone uses whatsapp, so everyone goes for that, even thou it takes 2 minutes to set up an alternative that don't sell your data, like Signal. People always choose lazyness over security.

@xFlared When I have to use whatsapp I use a virtualized Android inside my Android. It can't exfiltrate any other data except a burner phone number I provided it.

@didacusa3293 Phone numbers are not a big of a deal, you just buy $10 in a phone store on cash, then you activate it, and then you remove the SIM or through it into the fire.

I was trying to understand how the meta application can burn so many billions. Then I looked at contractor jobs overseas. Facebook is the Internet on India for example. Facebook is at the scale AT&T was, that's where all the billions is going to, they own the wires that connect. When Zuckerberg says he wants to be the internet, he's not joking. And people focus too much on the gimmickys of the metaverse, forgetting that you need to have real optical fibers everywhere for that to work.

Know what I do when I really need security ? "in-person" meeting, WOW , ITS POSSIBLE, in real life ! (I have a signal jammer, and everyone leave their phones in the car)
