  2.  @rorycallaghan5719  Yeah I've been noticing those efforts to suppress recording. But I'm optimistic that there'll be enough general public defiance of any laws and statutes against it to overwhelm suppression in the end. It sure didn't get anywhere when the police tried it after footage of the Rodney King beating, and that was when most people didn't have the means to record on the spur of the moment.

Sure would be nice if police unions fought for a cop's right to refuse an order that's against the public interest or the common good; then they'd be advancing cops who actually WANT to protect and serve. Instead they fight to uphold impunity for bad cops, and the ones who intervene or report misconduct get harassed and fired.

  4. I agree about using the term "pig." I get the reason for saying it, those cops definitely came in oinking. But once you say it you're preaching to the choir and telling the people on the other side to STAY on the other side. It's a way of feeling self-righteous without really wanting to change anything: If you don't win people over then you get to keep feeling outraged, which is an exhilarating rush and a way of feeling good about yourself.
