Haven't started reading the comments but I can already hear the trolls: "If the mayor didn't want to get gassed he shouldn't have been looting/rioting/commiting graffiti." And the true believers in the Trump religion will believe it even as they're saying it.

@Monk969 "Feel bad for protesters?" Actually I feel good about the protesters because they're not letting violence or police abuse stop them. There's no reason to excuse the mayor from his own abuses just because he stood with the people this time; my point was about the trolls not about the mayor. The troll mentality is such that they think saying magic words like "riot," "looting" and "graffiti" makes any assault on peaceful demonstrators ok: If you're carrying a sign and doing nothing more violent than chanting, that doesn't count because on some street somewhere in the same city somebody looted a store - so in the mind of a troll it's open season on anyone questioning the government.

The world saw it long ago. It's we in America who didn't see it because corporate-owned media's primary purpose is to protect corporate-owned government from journalism. In civilization they have actual journalists so they knew.

Insofar as it's an invasion force, I'd rather call the people's opposition what the French called it in WWII: The Resistance. But I guess revolution works too because it's ultimately our own government the people are resisting.

@SaintKimbo Let's see now, it was a bit of a ramble but the point seems to be that the mayor was attempting to pull down a barrier and damage a federal building, hmmmm... well I knew somebody was going to find a way to say it. Now who's going to prove he was looting?😂

@HartleySan Totally agree about Fox and the like, a category that includes the entire MSM... https://youtu.be/_CrbKdqdrKk

@mathewkelly9968 What, because you said "full of shit?" Don't apologize, I'm a Texan and as it says in a Johnny Winter song "There's so much shit in Texas you're bound to step in some!" 😂

@SaintKimbo Yep, "the US public is not as stupid as you believe they are" if you believe they can be hoodwinked into buying the alibi that when someone on some street somewhere in the same city is looting or rioting, that makes it ok to assault or kidnap random protesters around the city instead of focusing on protecting property from the actual rioters/looters threatening it. "The US public is not as stupid as you believe they are" if you believe they can be hornswoggled into buying the bs that snatching a random American off the street WITH NO CHARGES is lawful. Most of all, We The People are "not as stupid as you believe" if you believe we'll be fooled into thinking law enforcement is above having to obey the law.

@SaintKimbo Nice try but history is almost finished with you and with the idea that the police state trumps the people. Incarceration without charges is false arrest and false imprisonment whether it's for 2 hours, 2 years or 2 minutes. Civilization long ago rejected the bs that police are above the law, and Americans are interested in rejoining civilization - you may as well accept that, because my country can't be stopped; not even by corrupt government and dark money. We The People will prevail.

@SaintKimbo Tell it like you want it to look, your kind always have. But just the same you failed to stop the civil rights movement despite all the police brutality you could summon, failed to stop the antiwar movement of the Vietnam era no matter how many protesters the National Guard shot for you, and you're failing now. America will re-enter civilization no matter how much you hate it. Rule of law will replace police immunity/impunity. And ultimately government by the people will replace corporate ownership of government - maybe not in my lifetime but it's coming.
