Thanks for posting that. Wow they ARE full of it if they can say with a straight face "that he is running on the most progressive platform in American history." He's way to the right of Eisenhower - I grew up under Ike. Corporations and the rich paid much more in those days than Bernie and AOC are even asking today.

@daroe2340 True "it took movements of people to push him" but FDR said up front (paraphrasing) "I should do it. Now MAKE me do it." Contrast that with Biden's assurance to his donors that "nothing fundamental will change." Roosevelt was proud to be called a traitor to his class whereas Biden has declared loyalty to his corporate patrons. He'll probably make some concessions to the people but only if we rise up so decisively that both Houses have large factions of corporate-free members, and he won't embrace the reforms wholeheartedly or try very hard to make them truly effective. If We The People are to get representation in government, the Resistance will have to be in full force this time whether the POTUS is Triden or Bump.

Fight him in Congress and at the grassroots. Vote as left as you can all the way down to the school board and the water commission or whatever. Grow the Squad in the House, expand the Squad into the Senate. Get Bernie and AOC some allies!

@jase_allen Agreed, it's the Dem leadership that's the problem along with their Gop counterparts. I want to fight them and fight Biden by growing the Squad into enough of a presence in both Houses to force the DNC/RNC to hear the voices from the left they've been suppressing. And by growing the left in state/county/city governments. And voting is the only way I see to do it - along with enough grassroots demonstrations to influence the vote.

@73151cb True! Occupy wasn't a mass movement but I bet both Obama and Wall Street saw it as a precursor pointing the way to a movement - the very movement Obama professed to endorse with his hope-and-change rhetoric - so they suppressed it. And I think you're spot on that the people will like the ethical government concept once it's clear this idea's time has come.

Ok I'm almost convinced. Maybe I'll (1) vote for Biden, (2) hate myself for it and (3) make amends as much as possible by voting for every available left-wing candidate. Keep the Resistance alive and active, never forget that Biden/Pelosi/Schumer and all establishment Dem centri$ts are about the same as McConnell and the rest of the Gops (just more covert), and fight the same fight against them as we would against Trump.
