The Dems do not understand regular people because the party is made up mostly of two groups, rich White urbanites that live in a socio-economic bubble and those who are dirt poor and government dependent. That second group is a group the first one wants to expand so they can win more elections and have direct control over more people, a modern day aristocracy and serf class.
