  1. Heh.... you are worried about what life will be like for humans 200 years from now? I don't think humans will be around in 200 years. Our technology is improving exponentially fast, yet our ability to deal with the potential consequences of our new tech is almost nonexistent. The population deficit of newborns is the least of our problems.

  2. An average of $18k a year to raise a kid? That's bonkers. The only way that number makes sense is if we're talking about a kid with serious medical needs. Regular kid costs should be WAY lower than that. Unless you are raising a tiny gold plated Martian boy with designer diapers and caviar baby food.
