The price of fuel has to a large degree not been driven by the price of crude, it has been set by the refineries and retailers, hence the predatory super profits that the oil companies have been making. With more refiners coming back on line, or ramping up production, supply of refined product has increased, hence the drop in retail prices. You can bet your boots that the guys pushing this agenda of high prices will be trying like mad to re-create the shortage to lift the prices back up.
