  1. Very good point, and because the US froze all their funds and the Afghanis needed money, no doubt some of it was sold on the black market to secure food and supplies.

  5. The same happened at M9nte Cassino in Italy in WW2, the yanks bombed the castle creating a huge pile of rubble that made the fighting to win it even more difficult. The Kiwis, Aussies, South Africans and Brits who took it were not impressed.
