  2. Visited there in 1970 at the height of the Bush War and you are correct, Rhodesia was booming! Salisbury city was so well lit that it was illegal to drive in the city with the main headlights on, parking lights only were sufficient, that's when the power grid actually worked. No potholes, water supply and waste water worked, good schools for all and hospitals as well. Also interesting is the fact that the Rhodesian $ was worth more than the SA Rand, and the Rand was worth more than the US$!
