  1. Um...really? Last time I checked, cars were more efficient than ever before, and produce more power and have higher performance in relation to fuel consumption than ever before?   New BMW 320d for example will easily do 50 mpg on average (own it) without even trying to drive it in an efficient way...and it will do 240 km/h and 0-100 in less than 8 seconds.  15 years ago...a car of that size and performance would consume twice as much fuel.
