  1. I had a choice between a plain ole Yaris and a hybrid Prius C (basically same car) When I realized that replacing the battery on the Prius would be more expensive than getting a new engine or transmission, I went for the Yaris and will put up with a bit less MPG"s.

  2. Your battery theory will not apply if you buy it used. you just don't know how the previous owner took care of it. Very hot weather and very cold weather both kill those batteries.
