The fact that the explosives failed to go off when they should have done had a much greater impact than Britain could have hoped for. Then there is the drain on German resources which were much needed elsewhere.

@MoA-Reload... thanks for reminding me. I have seen it and a couple of others as well as reading several accounts. But that was some time ago. Most accounts dealt more with the commandos whereas Drachs version concentrated more on the naval side which helped fill in the details from that aspect of the raid

@ibeatyoutubecircumventingy6344 Not sure where any of that came from but if you think it would be different now then you are very much mistaken. If you think that British special forces are not the same now as they were then then you are totally deluded. Let's not forget that recently the British Royal Marine Commandos not only beat the US Marines on an exercise in the US, the US Marines home ground, they forced many of the marines to surrender.
