  1.  @lamwen03  Rationing did not finally come to an end until the summer of 1954. When sweets, candy, came off rationing there was a rush to buy them. This resulted in them being put back on ration again and a large number of people feeling decidedly queasy.

  2.  @lamwen03  According to Charles de Gaulle France liberated itself. So I'm not sure what everyone else was doing. Standing back in admiration and amazement probably.

  3.  @AdamosDad  To the best of my knowledge Britain is the only country to pay off its debts for WW2.
