  1. Naval use of the Bouncing Bomb. Barnes Wallis Developed an anti ship version of the Bouncing Bomb called the Highball which was fitted as a pair underneath a Mosquito bomber. He even developed a bomb sight for it. You put in the length of the ship kept to a set speed and height and when the two markers on the sight lined up with the bow and stern you dropped your bomb. One advantage was it could skip over anti torpedo netting. It was to be used against the Tirpitz but by the time it was ready for use the Tallboy had sunk the Tirpitz and the other proposed targets were either no longer available or were considered impractical. America did test the Highball, which they called the Speedee bombs but stopped testing when the A 26C being used dropped the bomb to low which caused it to take the tail off the A 26 killing the crew.
