So essentially she a populist that slowly moved her stances to fit better with the sentiment at large. This while many politicians only target their own part of the constituency and aren't populist (looking) enough. Though regarding Meloni, I'd still give it some time, you often see leaders as her remaining quite strong initially but then when things become a bit harder they can go down fast.
