I have heard your argument more than a couple times but no one explains to me how it's possible for red states to kick out their homeless, still have higher poverty rates but yet apparently have affordable housing for the many poverty stricken people who still live there. California, Washington, Hawaii and other blue states DON'T have affordable housing for their poverty stricken people, that's why they have tent cities. If Cali is the 5th largest economy in the world and the other blue states are so much richer than the red then there's absolutely no excuse.
