  1. Very effective weapon. The rounds for the M203 which replaced the M79 were also usable in the M79. There were some early M79 rounds that were some sort of paper wrapped cartridge. We were told not to use them in the M203. The DI's and range instructors showed us examples of these. Because the older ammo was still in the inventory.
