  3.  @simonr8721  no there is no sales tax. That is volume discount. Edit the 471 was when the M16A1s were purchased in the late 1960s early 1970s. The M1911A1 price was from WW2 as that was when they were purchased and delivered. Adjust for inflation.

  5.  @wes11bravo  I had one at my first duty station stamped XM16E1 with A1 MOD handstamped out to the side in a different font. My M1911A1 when I was stationed overseas was stamped M1911 from the factory. The A1 MOD was hand stamped in a larger font.
